Homicides continue to happen. I have spent the past few months in mourning and in prayer.
As the media shifts attention from one victim to the next, placing blame and shame - I worry about how those families are managing their pain, trauma, and grief.
I pray they receive ongoing support as they seek justice.
I am choosing to use this moment as one of self-reflection.
I am asking myself how I can be more courageous and bring more people into the peacemaking process.
I want to share that struggle with you. I hope that you will hear my words and feel my heart.
I invite you to watch this video testimony about how I have been impacted by the murders here in Boston, by the murders of Black people by police officers around the country, and by the murder of police officers.
I welcome you to join us in transforming society's response to homicide so all families are treated with dignity and compassion, regardless of the circumstances.
