First Annual Peace-B-QUE

We held our first annual Peace-B-QUE on August 13. More than 200 community members came over to our house for a celebration of life!

We enjoyed food grilled by Reverend Wayne Sylvester Daley, a photo booth run by our partners at The Children's Room, ice cream sundaes provided by our neighbors at Chill on Park, skateboarding lessons by On Board Boston, and beautiful performances by Dro Casso, Dee Dee Cherry, Toussaint Liberator, Inari Jade Higgins Barrett, and Kennesha. Thank you to Quandre McGhee for coordinating the program and emceeing the event.

Survivors Outreach Services Advocate Shahi Smart led our community in
Peace Play - a healing practice that allows individuals and families to express and reflect on their struggles and strengths through creating scenes using miniature figures in a tray of sand. The community sand tray we created represented our collective vision for a more peaceful community. Even Mayor Marty Walsh participated!
